new pledges

Thank you for your answers!

Your answers give an annual Carbon Footprint of (This figure is based on the answers provided in this questionnaire only):

1.59 Tonnes of CO2

The average total carbon footprint of a person in the UK is 9.4 tonnes per year.

We recommend that in order to reduce your carbon footprint you take action on your five worst habits:

  1. Try to avoid long haul flights - they really max your carbon footprint! Assumptions
  2. Switch your CRT TV off at the plug if you're not watching it. Leaving it on standby still uses electricity. Assumptions
  3. Try to switch your digital radio off at the plug. If you just switch it off on the set itself it will continue to use electricity. Assumptions
  4. Switch off your DVD player at the plug, as it will use nearly as much electricity even when it's in standby mode. Assumptions
  5. If you're going to be out of the room for 5 minutes or more, flick the switch on your way out! Assumptions

Following these recommendations reduces your Carbon Footprint by:

98%!

This will be one of my new year resolutions. Did the test on MTV.

Happy 2009!
