"I'm number one! Number one!" Yes you are! You the man! And Happy Birthday to you too! Usain Bolt did it! He won the 200m race by a mile; setting a new world record (his second of the games) of 19.30 secs; breaking Michael Johnson (who said he wouldn't do it)'s 12 year record by 0.02 secs!
This time there wasn't any slowing down at the end; he really wanted the record. As he ran towards the finish line, you could see his eyes shifting towards the scoreboard. However, 'Golden Boots' still did his hilarious pre-race and post race antics in what the commentators coined as the chicken dance =P There was still and will always be his infamous indignants towards the other athletes. But take nothing away from him. He's the world's best and Olympian of the year in my books! I mean world record in both sprint events in one games... seriously who does that anymore in the modern era?
On another note, got to pity Spearman. Although he looked like he crossed Dix's lane, but it was cruel taking the medal away from him. It was like egg to his face when the news broke to him as he was celebrating. Also, Churandy Martina of the Netherlands Antilles who got second after the race was disqualified; apparently he too when out of his lane during the bend. The IOC robbed him of what would be his country's first medal ever! And the decision was made 2 hours after the race. Please return the silver to him and his nation!
