I was at London!

There!

Haha! If I was a little good at photoshopping; then perhaps I could have fool someone.

I bought my 'own' Tower Bridge actually. Yeah... I was bored... and I felt like doing some puzzles. I thought it would be great fun and challenging 'building' it! And I was totally proud with the end results! The price was quite reasonable - only RM29.90.

It was quite a challenge. But the instructions were simple enough. All in all, I took about 4 hours to finish the puzzle; over a span of 3 days.

All you really need is either really long and narrow fingernails or just a pair of scissors - just to poke the pieces of 'rice' out. This will form slots to insert the other pieces of puzzle in. It's up to you if want to apply some glue to stiffen the joints; but in my opinion it's generally not necessary.

So slowly...

but surely...

the bridge starts to shape.

Finally it's done!

And the real thing! Omg... Looks amazing!

A view from the 'road'.

From Beijing off to London!

I'm really impressed how similar it's from the real thing!

And at the back of the box, it comes with a brief history about Tower Bridge.

But I'm too malas (lazy) to copy it out. So here is an excerpt from Wikipedia.

Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London, England over the River Thames. It is close to the Tower of London, which gives it its name. It has become an iconic symbol of London. Tower Bridge is one of several London bridges owned and maintained by the City Bridge Trust, a charitable trust overseen by the City of London Corporation.

The bridge consists of two towers which are tied together at the upper level by means of two horizontal walkways which are designed to withstand the horizontal forces exerted by the suspended sections of the bridge to the left and the right. The vertical component of the forces in the suspended sections and the vertical reactions of the two walkways are carried by the two robust towers. The bascule pivots and operating machinery are housed in the base of each tower.

Tower Bridge is sometimes mistakenly referred to as London Bridge, which is actually the next bridge upstream. A popular urban legend is that, in 1968 Robert McCulloch, the purchaser of the old London Bridge which was later shipped to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, believed mistakenly that he was buying Tower Bridge, but this was denied by McCulloch himself and has been debunked by Ivan Luckin, the seller of the bridge. Its present colour dates from 1977 when it was painted red, white and blue for the Queen's Silver Jubilee. Previous to this, it was painted a chocolate brown colour.

So, anyway, CubicFun also sells puzzles of other world's great architecture - The Colosseum, Leaning Tower of Pisa (which they purposely made it to slant to aside. I thought it was cute. Ok never mind), Sydney Opera house, White House, Neuschwanstein Castle (which is Sleeping Beauty's Castle - and apparently the most challenging to build among all), etc...

I have no idea where else they are selling at, but I bought mind at Great Eastern Mall, along Jalan Ampang, at Lower Ground Level, just in front of Cold Storage.
