Eeyore eyes

Reasons why I am tired all week...

1. Last Saturday's All American Rejects' concert!! Friggin awesome can!! But super icky! We were all packed like slimy-sticky-sardines in a compacted tin can under a 1-tonne tractor in the middle of the desert on the hottest day of the year.

Not a wanting to sound crude.. but yeah... not a place for people below the height of 1.50m. Smelly armpits, and droplets of sweat in hot stuffy environment doesn't maketh a free sauna.

BUT... they rocked!!

2. Last Sunday - Terry Fox run. Only 4 hrs of precious sleep isn't the best way to prepare for a charity jog. I aimed to run 5km. But damn... only could endure 3km. Sighs... disappointed in myself. Timing was alright.. (19 mins) but I was so tired. Oh wells... first run in like 6 weeks. Couldn't ask for more, I guess.. Where's all my RC power I wonder..

3. Stayed back on Monday and Tuesday although I only had 1 and 3 hrs of classes respectively.

4. Watched "This Is It" on Monday night - then only reached home past midnight. The movie was awesome!! The dances were incredible. The stage presentation was like so wuhtuhfarkish - I have never seen or imagined such thing could be done in a concert!! I was definitely in awe!! Michael still had it in him.... sighs...

you are not alone

We will never understand what he endured ... being judged, ridiculed. "Maybe, now, Michael, they will leave you alone." - brother Marlon, choking up.

Earlier he had to be comforted by Jermaine, before he could bravely proceed albeit in a cracking voice...

I could barely take it anymore and this gut-wrenching emotional scene completely shattered me...

"I just wanted to say," Paris began weakly.

"Speak up, sweetheart, speak up," Janet encouraged, sweeping the girl's long hair back. "And get close."

Paris put one hand behind her neck, another on the microphone, and began again.

"Ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine," she said, her tiny voice cracking.

Rebbie and Marlon Jackson moved in closer to comfort their niece. She shut her eyes tight.

Then she wrapped her hands - little fingernails painted red _ around the microphone and fought back tears as she continued: "And I just wanted to say I love him - so much."

She collapsed in tears into her aunt's arms.

"It's OK, baby. It's OK," Janet Jackson said as she held Paris close. Prince joined in on the hug.

But there were also reasons to celebrate on the Memorial Night... reasons to celebrate the life of one Michael Jackson.

Berry Gordy explaining what a great artiste he was...

"He raised the bar, then broke the bar."

.
.

"The more I think about Michael, and talk about Michael, the more I think that 'King of Pop' is not good enough. I think he is simply...

I think he is simply...

the greatest entertainer that ever lived."

Al Sharpton explaining what a great Daddy he was...

"Wasn't nothing strange about your daddy. It was strange what your daddy had to deal with."

The world explaining what a great man he was...

- Singing 'We are the World' -

We will miss you...

like Mike

If there were to be a movie about the life of the legendary King of Pop himself...

I really believe this guy can take the role as the lead actor...

Chris Brown

Some might dispute this, but... the man himself Michael Jackson has spoken highly of this fellow.

On celebrating his 50th birthday last year, MJ was quoted to have said: "Some of the younger newer artists - I think Chris Brown is doing wonderful and Justin Timberlake. I really admire what they are doing."

CB himself has claimed he is influenced by Jackson's past - "Me being able to listen to him, and be inspired by his dance and by his music, drives me to be more creative."

Now CB, like countless others, says that he is mourning the loss of one of his biggest inspirations.

"Michael Jackson is the reason why I do music and why I am an entertainer. I am devastated by this great loss, and I will continue to be humbled and inspired by his legacy."

"My prayers are with his family. Michael will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. He's the greatest...the best ever. No one will ever be better."

And he is right... no one will ever be better.

black and white

Michael Joseph Jackson (1958 - 2009)

Life is not the amount of breaths we take,
it's the moments that take our breath away.

You took ours away.

Rest in peace...

...................................................................................................................................................................

Heart attack vs. cardiac arrest: Reports that Jackson had died of cardiac arrest spurred incredible interest in the difference between that and a heart attack. A heart attack is when a portion of the heart muscle dies due to a blockage of the coronary arteries that supply blood to the heart muscle. Cardiac arrest is when the heart actually stops beating. This can be caused by several things including medications and can also follow a heart attack if too much of the heart muscle dies.

What is vitiligo?: Though many believed that Jackson bleached his skin, the star actually suffered from vitiligo, a skin disorder that leads to de-pigmentation.

crying foul

Why didn't Adam Lambert win??? Wtf!! Mood killer man! He was the only bright spark (ok dark.. whatever) of this season's American Idol. He was the reason why I watched this season. It has been a joke from the start to include a fourth judge + the rest of things to 'freshen' things up. I think nothing has been done to catch my attention. This includes the 'save' thing which I thought was soooo lame...

And don't let me get it started about the finale. Ok it was fabulous to see so many stars... (Carrie was so pretty) but I think it looked a bit too much on the grandeur side. Perhaps it was good, but looked a bit tad too tacky and commercialised.

But I digress...

What I had problem with was with the judges particularly Kara. Ok la... bikini girl was awarded some shit award... yeah she's back...with bigger boobs + some tan ...but does she, as a panel, have to come up on stage to sing with her (both had a row earlier in the auditions), dressed differently; like in bikinis as well??!! Well done to degrade the judges' already tarnished reputation this season.

Family show, can?

And this year's finale song, co-written by Kara, what the hell was it all about. The lyrics were horrible. I also could have sworn Simon scoffed the whole thing. I thought it was already a great idea in the past to let people of the public to write the song for the competition. I felt sorry that Kris had to sing "No Boundaries" in the end after the results again. He looked like he dreaded to. But perhaps it was for another reason. Right until the end, he still felt he wasn't good enough to win. Or he probably realised that he will be in the way of American's dream after already shocked us in the previous round by outlasting Danny.

Speaking of which, I am quite disappointed that Danny's fans jumped on the Kris bandwagon instead. I don't want to mention their common background la... but both are real gentleman, very nice guys. I have no idea what they see in Adam. Perhaps he's way too unorthodox, weird, flamboyant... but his talent is undeniable. The winner should go to one with the best voice, and charisma! Heck! Plus, you may never imagine it but a rocker like him can be such a nice guy. He was very sporting; didn't show any frustration; instead he was so happy for Kris when Ryan announced the results. Who says humility only belongs to Kris??

At the end, Ryan had to make sure Kris doesn't give his two cents worth of thoughts. The later repeatedly say, "But Adam..." Even Simon didn't look as impress as he would have suggested moments earlier. He was prepared to just sit, while the other three stood to give a standing ovation. I am beginning to think, particularly this season, that America have decided that they are the 'better' judges and whatever Simon says, they don't have to do no more. Then, I would imagine, Simon will then be prepared to quit the game, if he is no more the main player. Also this time, Ryan did not announce the difference in votes or the percentage split between the two. What I perceived the results to be is either a very huge or very small difference. Both are somewhat too controversial - if released. Anyway, up is where Adam will go from here... Watch him rise!

tock tick tock tick...

Wei! Faster lar! Let's go in. Benjamin old already!

We were about 5-10 minutes late when we arrived. But the movie still proved to be a masterclass! This movie had it all. There were some scenes where you would cry. Some scenes which can make you laugh - The guy who was struck by lightning 7 times. XD

If you ever picture yourself aging backwards, this is the movie for you. It certainly is strange, a tad bit 'curious'. To me, the first half of life would be apparently seem swell. We will slowly be liberated from our sufferings i.e. arthritis, cataracts, etc. Schools will be 'old-folks' homes' - albeit having only a few students. I guess it would be easy to get lots of MC. We can come up with anything and our parents or doctors will buy it. But passing on will be horrible. It's like we won't know anything. Life so much so ends (psychologically) before it ends (physically).

And during middle age, it's like quite eww lorr. There was this scene where Benjamin (age wise is older but looking soooo much younger compared to Daisy) slept with Daisy. It seems quite gross. He looked like her son.

Ok. But perhaps not very much different from the 'real world' we are living in. We will still get lots of TLC time in the early stages of our lives. We will drool lots when we are 'babies'. We will worry our 'parents' sick if we aren't back before our curfew. Oh and many many more.

How about if we are born younger?? That will really upset parents - perhaps even hysterical. It can only mean... that we don't have have as much time as the other 'kids'. Ok... this is getting way too confusing! It will be like having a countdown clock on your head - like in that music video, Savin' Me by Nickelback.

Also, it does beg the question whether people will still ask, "How old are you?". Perhaps if all of us were born old, then it will make it more logical to instead ask, "How young are you?" since we are young at the later part of our lives. And that would sound more polite in that world as well as ours right? It's kinda weird though listening to our much 'younger' parents that we should respects our 'youngers'. What if they pull our ears and it drops off! >.< width="425" height="344">

Some people, were born to sit by a river.
Some get struck by lightning.
Some have an ear for music.
Some are artists.
Some swim.
Some know buttons.
Some know Shakespeare.
Some are mothers.
And some people...
Dance.

funny quote

"We know that Arsene Wenger likes the look of Arshavin. But I like the look of Angelina Jolie, and it doesn't always mean you get what you want,'' agent Lachter told the Daily Mirror. "

LMAO

I understand, friend...

I like her look =) But unlike you, I know I will get her!

why???

Some things which I don't get...

  • Why Eddie Murphy as The Riddler??? What happened to first-choice Johnny Depp??

I guess Christopher Nolan knows what he's doing. He did such an amazing job in the first two movies!
  • Why Season 3 of Heroes must end so fast, after only 13 episodes?? *sobs* It was getting so exciting!! Haih.. oh well.. be patient, JooLian. At least it ended on such a high note :D
Btw, this is their theme song! So cool huh??

  • Why I keep falling asleep in the afternoon while studying? Bleh. My biological clock so screwed up - I'm such a nocturnal rat. I'm now so used to sleeping between 4-6am. Haha. One thing though, it's very quiet at that time of 'day'. Hmm.. and I have been getting this recurring dream. Maybe that's why I subconsciously can't wait to fall asleep?

Oh... Happy Boxing Day!~ Can't wait for football tonight!! :D

4 killed in SC plane crash; drummer, DJ injured

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Hours after performing for thousands of South Carolina college students, former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and celebrity DJ AM were critically injured in a fiery Learjet crash that killed four people, authorities said Saturday.

OMG... I really hope they are alright... not just a cover-up :'(

In this Sept. 7, 2008 file photo, DJ AM, left, and musician Travis Barker pose backstage at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards held at Paramount Pictures Studio Lot in Los Angeles. A hospital spokeswoman in Columbia, S.C. says former Blink-182 drummer Barker and DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein (dating Mandy Moore), have been critically injured in a Learjet crash that occurred shortly before midnight on Friday, Sept. 19, 2008 in South Carolina. Federal officials say two crew members and two passengers have been killed (Barker's assistant and security guard). (AP Photo/Chris Pizzello, file)

I loved Travis Barker in his remix of Soulja Boy's Crank That.
