Why we can't have what we want?
Sometimes in life...we don't always get what we want. Maybe we are just greedy? As the Malay saying goes... beri betis, nak paha (given a piece of calf, but want a piece of thigh - of a chicken). Probably we aren't appreciative enough of what we have already have? We dunno what we got till it's gone... But somehow we cant stop having this feeling. It's what makes us human. It's the driving force which makes us go forth to improve ourselves.
From a distance, we can only stop and stare...dreaming out loud of having it. The feeling is great, keeps tab at the fact that we have a goal. But sucks if someone got it first when you were the first one thinking of having it. Jealous-ness!!!

Worse still if we had it in the first place...It was all ours. Yet we let it go. But hurting yourself our hurling insults at the other isn't going to help. Just got to express how you truly feel.
But then again...think about it, slowly but surely, once we got it, we will stumble (or succeed depends on who you are) yet again. We have to search for another goal! Omg...so soon?? Maybe that was a little pessimistic. Or maybe this is all just me.

Sometimes there's only one thing left to say
I just finished reading P.S. I Love You...

Another brilliant book by Cecilia Ahern along with her other book I read - Where Rainbow's End. Not sure if this movie will end up at Malaysia's shore. Anyway Phoebe Buffet's acting as Denise! That's so her character! Haha! Anyway one thing I like about the book is that Holly's Mag X make up reader's horoscope! Let me try doing it =P Be warn! These are completely fake!
The story was beautifully written. There were many surprising moments in the plot. However, not shocking. Nevertheless, a wonderful piece of literature or chic lit. I love the documentary part! Very funny! =D

The greatest ever...
This is the full version...
IF
Rudyard Kipling
IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
Rudyard Kipling
I used to study this poem back when I was in school...
However, it wasn't until the next day of this epic finals (which Nadal won)had I truly grasp what Rudyard Kipling meant. Really moved by this classic poem.
Personally, I needed to hear the poem...I was glad it was recited when I tuned into Sportcenter on Monday. It's very inspiring. I think I need to get a poster of the poem and hang it up on my wall... ;)
I hope you enjoy too... =)

Banana floats!
Haha! Not talking about the dessert...Could use one right now ;)
Nor a banana float at a parade...
According to Yann Martel in his book 'Life of Pi', banana floats! He did one better in his book though. (It was a story only) He claimed an orangutan was on top of a floating barge of bananas! Is that possible? Hell yea! I experimented it myself. The banana floated! And better still, it wasn't soggy inside when I peeled it. Didn't go to waste ;P
I guess that's how the idea of banana boat came to be? Probably a scientist found that bananas float. But no one believed him. So his son decided to prove everyone wrong, by telling it to the whole world, he invented the banana boat to prove his point! haha...or maybe it was just some kid's idea of a joke! (if you know what I mean)

Ok back to the book...so was it possible that a 200lbs orangutan could float on the bananas? I think it could be possible depending how much bananas were in the barge. And the fact that sea water helps in buoyancy could be a huge factor. I wish Mythbuster helps us all out here! And what was the deal with the carnivorous island??? Anywho...it was a gripping adventure reading this book. Full of metaphors and symbols! The tale was so realistic, I had to wonder if it really did happened.
Ok since we are on the topic about bananas...please read what bananas can do for you...
When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals.
It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, “A banana a day keeps the doctor away!”
*Also note that we should never put our bananas in the fridge...someone told me that.....or was that a joke? Hmm...well...this is a joke I get
You know what Mae West said?
She said, "Is that a banana in you're pocket or are you just glad to see me?"
Enjoy you bananas...

It's funny how people come and go all the time. Well not that funny. During war, as strong as we all are, no one gets left behind. I guess that's why we all dread to make the decision to go our separate ways...separate lives. Who's to watch our back? Who's to listen to our stories? Who's to share our beer with?
Everybody's leaving...gone to register at other camps. Soon it will just me keeping myself company...like an old rusty rifle with his lost blind hunter. Irrelevant? Well, that's how I see things. Not knowing where am I or where to go. I feel so disorientated. (Pardon the pun if it's even perceivable) I do have a dream; even blind man can. I'm doing all I can to make it happen. But sometimes it's one thing to try and another thing to 'can'. Classic case of I would if I could.
I mean I do have the opportunity not many is given. It's there. It's here. But so unreachable. Just as though a float in front of a drowning man (me) is constantly being pulled away by ferocious currents. And the rescuers at the shore won't want to do anything until I absolutely turn blue before they will consider pulling the gigantic plug out of the river. And they wont even rush to resuscitate me! Probably just to dry me first.
Damn...I just wish I have a clue. I just cant wait any longer...I'm doing my best to shoot for the moon. But my dear friend told me that if I miss, at least I will still be among the stars. Very comforting. Nice way to put it. Call me ambitious or whatever, I still want to go to the moon. No matter how costly, no matter how deserted (it's not that I feel any different now), no matter how far...I'm not trying to run away from things..maybe..I dunno. I just want to fulfill my dreams.
Right now, it's so hard to talk to anyone. It may not seem so. But terribly so. Words don't seem to be my best friends at the moment. I can't seem to see the right from wrong. I might not have the guts anymore to face the people I want to see. Maybe the awkwardness is still tender. I really need some distractions to soothe me. Maybe a new hobby can help me now. Laughing really helps...seriously. Now, I even laugh at the silliest of things. Shows that I'm terribly distraught inside.
Hmm...maybe hobbies ain't such a bad idea now. I shall come up with a list...
1. Drawing? or doodling...though i ain't good at it
2. I reckon I still have cash for some more novels
3. avoid arthritis early no by sewing but by playing with Rubik's cube
4. working out?
5. maybe it's high time i continue writing my story or poems
6. entering contests
7. do some charity things...how long I'm going to procrastinate on this I wonder
Ok thxforlisteninbai...=)

Things I will never say...
Sometimes us human think with such complexity. We are filled with thoughts, emotions and problems. And sometimes it's tough differentiating them when our minds are flooded. Sometimes we wish for an amnesia attack to just lose it all and began everything once more, sometimes we just wish to discover our history just to know where we belong.
Once we targeted and locked on a goal, it's our nature to pursue it. No matter what, we will try to cross boundaries and bend 'rules'. Sometimes, when we make a breakthrough, we will feel great and proud about ourselves. And maybe share the infectious joy with the people around. But other times, we stumble on hurdles which seemed like they are on tiny toes. The route just seemed so unfair yet it seemed so right. So right in fact, we blame ourselves for all the wrong things that have happened. So through many sleepless nights, we will try to figure out what were the mistakes...sometimes even by harshly interrogating ourselves. Only result we end up is complete resentment of our own pity self. We will suffer so much hurt even in places we didn't know we had.
It's will be so hard getting a grip of the 'criminal' within. Sometimes, we just let it out on the wall...literally. Apathy and lack of communication can really break down anyone. It's just best that the message gets through rather than have guilt murder the other. Most notably when we are having fun or enjoying a euphoric moment. Sometimes we wish to revel the instant with someone. But cruelly no someone could be reached. And the moment just died out like that with part of our soul...pathetically, pitifully...
And so...subconsciously, we just do what we can, do what we do to just distract ourselves. Maybe by helping others...even with a cold bottle in one hand. But still with a slight glint of anger and ferocity in our redden eye. Sometimes we still hope we are wrong, and that there were probably some misunderstandings and misconceptions. Then, we would replay evidences, sometimes consulting the stars...
Or God...Where was he when we needed him? Probably at Myanmar or China. But I guess that's because He trusted and believe that we could solve our own problems. He will just give us guidance...and make sure we are always good children. Or maybe He was just helping us to built our character...to make sure we are strong. Very comforting from God...but...
We received so much 'ass' and 'crazy' comments...particularly from our lone self. So much bitter and raw comments can only be too much to handle. Sometimes we just want a little recognition from others...like 'good job' bro or something like that. It's so difficult being under such circumstances. We constantly just try to subdue the devil within. It's tough trying not to make a punchbag out of someone. Or worse...shoving a guy's head into another guy's ass. Then I realised, we shouldn't be putting ourselves in so much shit. A book I read thought me that to forgive ourself is the first thing and best thing we should do under the worst of consequences. Just deep breaths...and I do...haihz...I need a holiday...
To err is human....to forgive is divine...

Mirror
I was searching Google, looking for a decent picture of a chameleon looking at a mirror. None at all surprisingly. I had better chance of finding this =P

This is rather a cool pic. Very aboriginal like. Don't mind having this on my wall.

Since I was on a roll using Google, I decided to google 'Wesley Gibson'. Nothing like what was shown in the movie came up. No surprises there. Pardon the pun ;) In fact over 3,000,000 results came up! So I wiki-ed him and the actor himself, James McAvoy. And OMG! A revolution!

Holly @#*! Both of them are supposed to be the same??! Not bad range for an actor like him.
Wesley Gibson is a ruthless killer, a member of the Fraternity! And Mr Tumnus the nice goat-man!
Anywho...I digress...

Mystic - ability to mimic anyone
The reason for this long winded post was actually to discuss about the latest 'House' episode I watched. The patient was suffering from this Giovannini's 'mirror' syndrome. It sounded so fabricated, yet so believable! So, I decided to do some research about it. And wadaya know...it does exist! Cool... Well, in the episode, the patient would mirror the behaviour of whoever he was with, including House, Cuddy or some of the other new interns. For example, when he was in the surgery room, he would think he was a surgeon. Not only did he start talking like one, he also grabbed a surgical blade; only to be stopped by House. Apparently, he would only mirror the behavior of people he thought was the dominant figure. (It was always House)
It's quite a peculiar syndrome. Can't be cured. In that episode, this syndrome isn't the life threatening disease he was suffering. There was something else. House also did manipulate him, the poor patient, to feed his ego that he was always the most dominant figure around. He also used him to find out more about everyone else since the patient can cleverly 'read' the others so well. (Not that House was so bad at it.) At the same time, the interns who spent time with the patient managed to learn a little more about themselves. So anyway, Giovannini's is the result of brain damage; more specifically at the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain.
It's quite cool once you think about it. Kinda freaky but cool. Freaky because he knows so much about you, cool because he understands you. Haha!
To find out more about this syndrome, please reading this article from the British Psychological Society or this article on InformaWorld.
