random techies

The new Kingston 128GB DataTraveler 200 (DT200) apparently is the world’s largest flash drive in terms of storage capacity.

Better than external hard disk?

When Ares decided to put a fee into their music-file sharing software, I googled for another which I can use. And WA-LAAH! Featured my CNN, Yahoo!, Bloomberg, etc, is Blubster!!

It's legal as far as it concerns...

BUT... on the downside, I can't seem to get rid of its occasional pop-ups (every 10 minutes or so) and they don't have relatively unknown songs. But Top 40 songs are not a problem.

like Mike

If there were to be a movie about the life of the legendary King of Pop himself...

I really believe this guy can take the role as the lead actor...

Chris Brown

Some might dispute this, but... the man himself Michael Jackson has spoken highly of this fellow.

On celebrating his 50th birthday last year, MJ was quoted to have said: "Some of the younger newer artists - I think Chris Brown is doing wonderful and Justin Timberlake. I really admire what they are doing."

CB himself has claimed he is influenced by Jackson's past - "Me being able to listen to him, and be inspired by his dance and by his music, drives me to be more creative."

Now CB, like countless others, says that he is mourning the loss of one of his biggest inspirations.

"Michael Jackson is the reason why I do music and why I am an entertainer. I am devastated by this great loss, and I will continue to be humbled and inspired by his legacy."

"My prayers are with his family. Michael will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. He's the greatest...the best ever. No one will ever be better."

And he is right... no one will ever be better.

black and white

Michael Joseph Jackson (1958 - 2009)

Life is not the amount of breaths we take,
it's the moments that take our breath away.

You took ours away.

Rest in peace...

...................................................................................................................................................................

Heart attack vs. cardiac arrest: Reports that Jackson had died of cardiac arrest spurred incredible interest in the difference between that and a heart attack. A heart attack is when a portion of the heart muscle dies due to a blockage of the coronary arteries that supply blood to the heart muscle. Cardiac arrest is when the heart actually stops beating. This can be caused by several things including medications and can also follow a heart attack if too much of the heart muscle dies.

What is vitiligo?: Though many believed that Jackson bleached his skin, the star actually suffered from vitiligo, a skin disorder that leads to de-pigmentation.

train wreck

Things you might notice if you are a frequent public transport user:

1. Somebody faints. And then suddenly everyone is offering their seats. Even the seats beside the fainted one is vacated. Apparently to give the person extra room.

2. A swimming pool located just beside the railway track. I wonder why do people even bother using it.

3. A young person approaches you with what seemed like a leader bounded file. He asks for your time, even when you clearly looked busy and tired. He introduces himself, shows his identifications and open the file to reveal some pictures. He seems to speak politely whilst trying to generate some sympathy. A simple ploy to get his hands into your wallet. He shows the stickers with a receipt of RM10. Am I suppose to buy this?

I was soooo tired. I was trying to be attentive, but my mind was mapping out ways how to say it in a nice way that I didn't trust him. So, I asked him, "How much will you be paid for this?" He seemed very shocked. And that moment onwards, he literally became nervous. I guess he knew I wasn't really going to make the donation. He removed a rubber band from his wrist and started playing with it between his fingers while still trying to convince me why it wasn't a scam (this time in a more slurred way of talking). I was just staring at his fingers, as he twirled the rubber band around his index finger. Gosh! It looks tight. His finger is all ruddy above the rubber band! I didn't really have to get rid of him. He just walked away almost on his own. I turned back, and he was already on the phone... Then, a monk clad in orange walked pass me. Coincidence?

4. Reading a book somehow lets you keep your seat.

I was sitting in the LRT reading my book when suddenly, another lady spoke in a very curt manner asking the person beside me to surrender her seat for a pregnant lady standing nearby. Is that supposed to make me feel bad?? I lost concentrating what I was reading, but totally ignored the fact that the person who grudgingly gave up her seat was now standing in front of me, perhaps thinking the same thing as I was - I am younger than her.

5. Some people can be really disgusting users. And curiously they are of the same race.

A guy digs his nose, his mouth is half open, revealing his loosely clenched jaws; drool almost flowing out from his mouth. After a good ten seconds in the cave while making sure he sweeps through every nook and cranny, out his index finger came, revealing a nasty greenish-black bat perching on it. He considers wiping it on the seat between his legs, then decided against it. He flicks it proudly like a daddy bird letting his chicks soar on their own for the first time. The lady beside him shifts her leg away to the corner.

A group of messy friends enters a train. All of them got seats. One of them has a drink. Suddenly he spills it, mostly on himself. The sticky stuff all over his arm. His girlfriend pretends not to notice. He surreptitiously wipes his arm over the seat he was sitting on. He dumps the empty bottle under his seat. He does not seem to notice the stares around him.

ohhhh....

What is a First Cousin, Twice Removed?

Finally I get Professor Doughty's joke.. -_-" ...that's after probably one year? He kept using it when we had assignments to do. He would warn us against getting answers from other students in UK, who might happen to be first cousin, once or twice removed.

Well.. normally I would just ignore this sort of things. But finally after so long, I succumbed my ignorance to curiosity after the phrase was played on TV! And once again, I didn't get the joke!! So yeah... I don't want to murder and mutilate another cat over and over again till it was sorry it has 9 lives! Ahem.. I didn't really kill a cat... just curiosity kills a cat... so yeah... no more being curious.

Anyway, this useful site helped me...

When the word "removed" is used to describe a relationship, it indicates that the two people are from different generations. You and your first cousins are in the same generation (two generations younger than your grandparents), so the word "removed" is not used to describe your relationship.

The words "once removed" mean that there is a difference of one generation. For example, your mother's first cousin is your first cousin, once removed. This is because your mother's first cousin is one generation younger than your grandparents and you are two generations younger than your grandparents. This one-generation difference equals "once removed."

Twice removed means that there is a two-generation difference. You are two generations younger than a first cousin of your grandmother, so you and your grandmother's first cousin are first cousins, twice removed.

There you go! No more being blur during a joke about cousins first or twice removed! Hmm... I wonder how is that funny in the first place.. Gotta hear the joke again.

germ in i

I are having germ in my body. I *cough* *hack* *ahem* *wheeze* now. Lots of phlegm/mucous at the back of my throat. *Ahem* *Hem* *Em* *M*. Ok manage to down it. *Cough* Wooh! Skipped a breath there. Speaking of Germs, Valkyrie was damn nice. Must watch!

news

There I was, staring at my shoes. These should be off, I felt. I took them off. I arranged them neatly by the side. I wriggled my toes. It felt good in the socks that clothed them. It helps keep my feet warm. I emptied my pockets, turned off my phone and put everything neatly in my shoes.

I turned to face the world again. The breeze released me from everything. I had no fear. I was standing at the ledge of an abandoned building, the edge of the world. I have no idea where I am. I have never been to this part of the city before. It doesn't matter to me. I did not plan to go home.

I felt the cut on my arm. It was still wet and raw. I had earlier climbed over the barbed fence. It did not sting nor hurt. I closed my eyes and let my mind wonder. This felt right. Instincts guided me here. They have always served me well. So I trusted myself on this matter-of-life-and-death situation. I had left a note at home. I wonder why I still brought my phone. It doesn't matter anymore now.

I spread my hands eagle-like. I took a deep breath. The wind was still strong. It started to feel chilly. I was nearly floating. I thought of the note I had written. It will help explain everything. Truth was, I was shattered. Last night, I had curled up on the floor in my room, silently listening to the footsteps outside while I carelessly wrote the note.

A hushed melody broke my reverie. It was familiar. I kept my eyes closed. It was our favourite song. I started to crack, but in a controlled manner. I then cried for the first time in my life. I still face the wind, my arms outstretched, letting the tears flow down my cheeks. I opened my eyes. The sun was already starting to set.

Then I was startled by a voice, "Beautiful isn't it?" It sounded somewhat divine. I cleared my throat, finding my voice. Am I dead? - I asked myself. "Are you here to take me home?"I asked. "No. But do you mind company?" I looked to my side. My eyes was still blurry. I saw a bright outlined of a figure. It seemed almost glowing. I rubbed my eyes on my sleeves, squinted, looked up and exchanged her smile. "Oh it's you!"

Good story?

the winking virus is moving on

Manchester United have accepted an £80m offer from Real Madrid for Cristiano Ronaldo.

stretched

The pain is good;
It makes me feel good about myself.
I can feel the prostaglandin and kinin flowing through my veins.
I am with my own elements.

Lift by lift.
I can feel the tear, the burst.
Shall I stop?
Beeds of sweat flow.
Running down my back.

I furrow my brows.
I clench my fists.
I grit my teeth.
I squeeze my eyes shut.
I carry on.

The burden;
So heavy,
But it's my ring.

Four scores of minutes,
In four days.
I am proud.
I shall make it a habit.

Calcutta smiles

1. Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.

2. Each one of them is Jesus in disguise.

3. Everytime you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.

4. God doesn't require us to succeed; he only requires that you try.

5. If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.

6. If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one.

7. It is a kingly act to assist the fallen.

8. It is impossible to walk rapidly and be unhappy.

9. One of the greatest diseases is to be nobody to anybody.

10. We are all pencils in the hand of God.

-Quotes by Mother Theresa-

pump the gas

"Hey bro! Let's go bowling/sing K!"
"Oh... hmm... err... Sorry man. I got something on. Test in two days time."
"Well, that's too bad. Come if you can make it."
"Alright. I will try to be there."

Somehow when the holidays are here, we tend to lose ourselves. Everyone is "busy" with their own stuffs; their own lives. Sometimes, try-ing isn't assuring anymore. Why do we not want to make ourselves free?

Gah! Me not fond of long holidays, unless there is a trip of course. I am tired of spending my hols doing mundane things which can be done at any other weekends.

2. I love fiction... especially that which contains real facts.
3. I love oxymorons... they are weirdly special.

untitled

A week since my last paper... and I am back in uni having my moral studies.

So pretty much no difference from previous weeks and today.

Also curiously, I am only noticing the same people online on my msn. Where are the others???

I have been meaning to write a few articles during holidays. I guess I will temporarily keep it unchecked.

Hmmm... have I lost my passion to blog??

Talk to you guys later!

Gotta find out where Hindus come from...
